Privacy policy

Last updated:

This policy explains how Dezi's OSRS Boss Trainer handles information when you visit the site and use its practice simulators. Dezi's OSRS Boss Trainer is an unofficial fan project. It does not require your RuneScape account credentials.

Information stored in your browser

The trainer uses local storage to remember choices such as keybinds, sound volume, graphics settings, loadouts, tile markers and practice preferences. If you use multiplayer, it also remembers your chosen display name. These settings remain on your device until you change them, clear the site's browser data or your browser removes them.

Temporary multiplayer access credentials use session storage so you can reconnect to your party in the same tab. Leaving a party removes its saved credential from that tab. Solo fights run in your browser; the trainer does not maintain server-side profiles of solo practice sessions.

Multiplayer information

When you create or join a Wardens party, the server receives your chosen display name, party code, a temporary session identifier and the game state needed to run the shared fight. This includes readiness, positions, health, prayers, attacks, damage and activity timestamps. The server stores a hashed form of your access credential.

Your display name and shared fight state are visible to other players in the party. Choose a nickname and share the party code only with people you want to play with. You can use the solo simulators without joining a party.

Hosting and technical information

Hosting and security services process connection information to deliver pages, protect the site and diagnose errors. This can include your IP address, browser information, requested URLs, request times and error information. Infrastructure providers may also use cookies or similar technologies for their own security or platform features.

The site uses Cloudflare infrastructure. Read Cloudflare's privacy policy for its handling of this information. If you access a version through another hosting platform, that platform's privacy terms also apply to information it processes.

How information is used and shared

Information is used to provide the simulators, remember your settings, reconnect party members, synchronize multiplayer fights, maintain security and investigate technical problems. Multiplayer information is processed by the site's hosting and database services and shared with your party as described above.

How long information is kept

Browser preferences stay on your device until cleared. Multiplayer rooms expire after one hour without updates. Expired room records are removed in batches when new rooms are created, so expiry does not mean immediate deletion. Infrastructure logs and backups may follow the hosting provider's separate retention practices.

Simulator usage statistics

On bosstrainer.win we collect simulator visits, anonymous browser identifiers, play sessions, and estimates of active, idle, and background time. A random identifier is stored in your browser to estimate unique players; no name, IP address, key values, or game inputs are stored in this analytics database. Detailed activity is retained for up to 90 days, with expired records removed as new events arrive. Anonymous player IDs and their first-play date are kept for all-time player totals. Only the site owner can view the dashboard. Enable Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control to disable this collection. Clearing site data resets your anonymous identifier.

Your choices

You can change saved preferences in the trainer settings and delete local preferences or session credentials through your browser's site-data controls. Clearing this data resets saved settings and may require you to rejoin a party. Blocking browser storage may prevent settings from being saved or party reconnection from working.

Leave a multiplayer party to stop sending further game updates. Information already received by other party members is not removed from their browsers by clearing your own data. Requests about data held independently by a hosting provider can be directed to that provider using its privacy-policy contact details.

Links to game guides, the OSRS Wiki and other websites take you to services with their own privacy practices. Review their policies before sharing information with them.
